The JSR follows a number of strategies to promote the dissemination of each edition and to make the broader academic community aware of the journal’s publications. These include:

  • Indexing in reputable indexes (bibliographic/full text).
  • The JSR is attempting to expand the marketing of each edition via social media to the wider scientific community, including authors, research groups, departments at universities, research institutions, and libraries.
  • National, regional, and international engagement is achieved through the marketing of each edition by the members of the Editorial Board to their various networks.
  • The work of the JSR is regularly highlighted at the ASRSA conferences and speakers at these conferences who deliver papers aligned with the quality and scope of the JSR are invited to submit their papers to the JSR. If speakers are emerging scholars, the Editorial Team mentor these scholars and help them to develop their research into an article that is of the required JSR standard for publication.
  • The JSR aims to publish both South African and international articles in each edition.
  • Call for papers are made regularly to the larger ASRSA community, by the Editorial Team and Editorial Board members to their networks, and by Guest Editors to their networks.
