POPI Act and Protection of Personal Information

The JSR protects all the personal information of authors, reviewers, people involved in the collection of data, and stakeholders by safeguarding data and complying with relevant data protection acts and regulations. By ensuring that the identities of the authors and reviewers remain anonymous the journal does not share any personal information of either authors or reviewers during the review process. The information about authors is only shared with their consent on the publication of their article. The JSR also requests that authors adhere to the protection of information act for the people they may have engaged with in the process of their data collection, analysis, and in storing their data.

Peer Reviews

All peer review reports are considered confidential information and are not shared with people outside of the Editorial Team. The actual peer review is not shared with the author(s) as it is the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor to collate peer reviews into one report which is shared with author(s). The original peer reviews are not shared with anyone. Peer reviews are not shared with other journals, publishers, editors or editorial teams. Peer reviews from other journals or publishers are not accepted by the JSR. All reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review. This includes not sharing the content of the manuscript with anyone outside the review process.

Authors’ Details

The details of authors are considered confidential information and only shared with the Editorial Team. Peer reviewers do not receive any information that may reveal the identity of authors. Only if an article is published the details of authors are shared with readers, reviewers, and anyone who accesses the journal.
