Archiving Policy
The Journal of Construction Project Management and Innovation (JCPMI) recognizes the importance of preserving the scholarly record. As such, JCPMI is committed to ensuring the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to providing access to this content for future generations.
Policy
JCPMI implements a variety of measures to ensure that the journal's content is preserved against potential threats or contingencies that could impede access.
Strategies for Preservation
- Digital Archiving: JCPMI employs digital archiving solutions to protect the journal's content. This includes depositing content in various digital archives to safeguard against data loss.
- Multiple Formats: Content is stored in multiple formats, including print and digital, to ensure that the material remains accessible irrespective of technological changes.
- Redundancy: Copies of all published content are stored in multiple geographically distributed archives to minimize the risk of data loss due to local catastrophes or technical failures.
Access and Retrieval
- Continued Access: JCPMI ensures that all published content remains available to readers and libraries, regardless of the journal's status.
- Open Access: In alignment with Open Access principles, JCPMI provides free access to all its content immediately upon publication.
Collaborations
- Third-Party Archiving Services: JCPMI collaborates with recognized third-party archiving services such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and PKP PN, which are initiatives that ensure the long-term preservation of scholarly literature in electronic format.
Post-Cessation Access
- Perpetual Access Clause: In the event that JCPMI ceases publication, efforts will be made to ensure that the content remains accessible through these third-party services.
- Transfer of Archive: If necessary, JCPMI will arrange for the transfer of the archive to another suitable repository or publishing platform.
Author Archiving
- Author Rights: Authors are permitted and encouraged to archive their published articles in institutional repositories or other free public servers in their respective fields immediately after publication.
Updating Policy
- Review and Adaptation: The Archiving Policy will be reviewed periodically to incorporate advancements in preservation technology and changes in archiving standards.
