The SAIEE Africa Research Journal will publish a Feature Section with selected papers from the 6th International Conference on Image Information Processing (ICIIP -2021) which will be held at Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan, India and scheduled for November 26-28, 2021 (www.juit.ac.in/iciip_2021). The special issue offers authors an opportunity to expand their accepted and presented ICIIP 2021 papers into SAIEE Africa Research Journal papers, providing additional technical results and/or further discussions and insights, beyond the 6-page conference papers. All invited and contributed papers presented at ICIIP 2021 conference are invited to submit the extended version of their work up to 8 to 10 pages to this special issue (at least 50 % of content must be new and additional to provision at the conference). The deadline for submission of manuscripts is April 30, 2022; publication is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 2022. Submissions should be made online at https://journals.uj.ac.za/index.php/SAIEE/login, with papers formatted compliant to SAIEE Africa Research Journal.

Scope:

“Society 5.0 is defined as a human-centred society that balances economic advancement with the resolution of social problems by a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space”. Internet of things (IoT) is a network of physical objects called "things” that are assumed to be equipped with sensing and actuating technologies in addition to the software and abilities. The prime aim of IoTs is to connect and exchange the data/information among things, other devices and systems over the internet. It has emerged as a potential technology that makes the term connected environments into reality. Currently, artificial intelligence (AI) is a very trending research area that is finding its applications in multiple areas such as engineering, management, business, agriculture and healthcare systems. The key concept behind AI is to make the machine intelligent by mimicking human intelligence via proper training and programming. Smart environments are in the prime focus of researchers and industrialists for the ease of human life and to fulfil the demands of society 5.0. The key demand of smart environments is that must be connected and must have intelligent behavior. Therefore, AI-assisted IoT networks have appeared to be a very prominent technology for Society 5.0. The objective of this special session is to concentrate on all aspects and future research directions related to AI-assisted IoT's network frameworks, designs, mathematical models, simulation environments and various applications.

Topics and Areas of Interest (not limited up to following):

Society 5.0, Artificial intelligence and IoTs, Artificial Intelligence and Society 5.0, IoTs and Society 5.0, Sensing and Actuation abilities of the IoTs, Communication and Computation Perspectives, Advanced Frameworks and Designs of AI-assisted IoTs, Security and Privacy perspective in AI-assisted IoTs, Applications of Machine learning and Deep learning Applications of AI-assisted IoTs such as Smart Environments, Smart Healthcare, Smart Agriculture, Smart City, Smart Home, Intelligent Transport Systems etc., Smart Banking and Management.
